metalpress.tv vs the heavy devil metal press
this blog has been inactive for a couple years, for various reasons. recently the idea to regenerate the blog came to mind and we had planned a meeting to create an attack plan.
today i come home and this is what i see when i start my yahoo;
powerofthemoon: This is Darron of Metalpress.tv Your use of our trademarked name "MetalPress" In your website blog is illegal- and we are forced by law to procute anyone using our name. I strongly suggest you remove the material with the term "Metal Press" So I dont have to sue a fellow metalhead. ty 501-305-XXXX phone- anytime for more details.

after a quick phone call explaining my displeasure in getting this crap message, i get this;
powerofthemoon: Dude...fucking chill. I am required by law- trademark law to ask you to stop using it. I am sorry your too much of a pussy to talk on the phone..as I was gonna explain it too you. I dont have to sue you. You blog will be removed. Or you could be a bit nicer and talk about it. After your meds.
after which i simply sent back his address asking if that was him, and i have not heard back since.
in doing a google search for "metal press", i dont come up on the first page, so i didnt waste my time any further. i then searched "heavy metal press", and there i was, number 9 on the first page and this guys website is nowhere to be seen, not on the first page at least. i then notice the number 1 result on the page is heavymetalpressco.com, i wonder if they got served the same crap text or email as i did?
i then did a search and found rosemetalpress.com, did they too receive this same message and threat?
it is my personal belief that this guy has hurt feelings that another site came up before his. sorry hurt feelings guy, i cannot help you.
if you did a better job than i at search engine optimization, you wouldnt be worrying about this.
move on, the band i saw in video format on your site is not even heavy metal. it is like garage rock or urban/new metal. please do not confuse the type of bands expressed here on my blog with the bands you associate with.

Heavymetalpressco.com does not deal with heavy metal music and neither does rosemetalpress.com. You do not see anyone creating an operating system for a computer called "devil windows" do you? It is because they are in the same business and it is a trademark violation.
